WHERE I COME FROM
I was brought up in Independence, a suburb of Kansas City, by my grandmother, who was a first-generation citizen of the United States. I pursued my undergraduate and graduate studies at the University of Missouri-Kansas City where I was a part of the Nu Xi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi and held the position of chapter president for two years. After graduation, I became a member of the Kansas City Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi and quickly assumed a leadership role. I served as both the Regional Vice President of the Midwestern Region and the South Central Province Vice President.
A THRIVING CAREER
Having almost 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, I am currently the Director of Product Management at SelectQuote Insurance, one of the country's largest independent digital agencies. I currently manage relationships with multiple insurance carriers and vendors, as well as my team of eight individuals, whom are all virtual. My responsibilities include managing the health of a portfolio totaling over $200M, maintaining agency quality standards and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure the success of the organization is maintained. Throughout my career I have also worked in claims, sales and underwriting. In addition to insurance, I successfully established and led a fraud investigation team at an online university, uncovering over $1 million in student loan fraud.
WHERE I'M GOING
My wife, Brother Kris McDaniel and our two furry pets Flynn and Megra are a big part of my life outside of work and Delta Sigma Pi. We enjoy exploring our hometown of Kansas City, kayaking, hiking, and glamping. Our love for travel recently took us on a 17-day trip to Europe and a one-week trip to St. Martin. During our travels, we look forward to visiting friends, particularly our Delta Sigma Pi family. I also find joy in playing trivia and spending time with our friends.
I can also be found enjoying a nice whiskey or Cabernet Sauvignon.
I would be remiss if I didn't mention watching the KC Chiefs play each week as we gear up for another Super Bowl appearance. I am currently awaiting the completion of the KC Current stadium - the first stadium in the US designed specifically for women's soccer.
